We recently visited a park near the Yangtze gorge that’s closest to us. We didn’t have time to hike the path to the river (the park workers actually opened the park up for us after hours), but it was a beautiful sight even from a distance.

Thousands gather for the Dragon Boat Festival held in Zigui, an hour away from Yichang.
Here the bicycle club is in the shorter of the two different length dragon boats. The short boat holds 10 rowers, one drummer and a helmsman. The longer boat holds 20 rowers.

The weather in Yichang is getting warmer, currently in the low 90s with plenty of humidity. When the weather warms up many people avoid the mid-day heat by taking a nap…wherever they can.
