Suburban Dallas Land!

Many nicer apartment complexes in China are gated communities. We made a special visit to a particular community that is still under construction. As soon as you enter, you feel as if you are in a theme park. We’ll call it “Suburban Dallas Land”. At SDL, everything is shiny and new. No trash. You ride around in special golf carts. All the houses and town houses look like they might be built using wooden framing or brickwork, but in reality they are just poured concrete structures with a brick or stone tile applied to the outside. There’s not a 2×4 board in the entire structure.

All 21 houses sold at around USD$500,000 each.

Shorel with our guide checking out the one car garage. Probably won’t fit that Hummer I saw the other day.

In this photo, you can see how different layering (2nd & 3rd floors) is applied to the bare concrete (1st floor).

Buzzing around the “theme park”!

Town houses: USD$112,500. The inside is just a bare concrete box. You do the interior decorating separate.

This is the model house. It was very ornate. Not a place for kids to run through.
