Birth - December 30th, 2006
Schäfer Ewald Kleinert was born in Hong Kong at 7:50am after 29 hours of labor (only 12 hours of hard labor). His Agpar score after one minute of birth was a 9 and after five minutes was a 10. His name is the German word for “Shepherd”. Our prayer is that he would guide and protect whatever is appointed to him. His birth was one of the most incredible experiences of our life.
The First Month - January
Schäfer’s all soft skin, hoots and toothless smiles. His favorite hobbies are being held, wiggling, eating and sleeping. His favorite food is milk. His favorite activity is bath time.
Shorel worked hard getting his passport and other necessary documents so that he could travel into China.
The Second Month - February
Once home, we celebrated Christmas and attended a wedding. Then, we decided we needed a break from the cold so we headed to the beach. Schäfer loves to travel in his sling. At his checkup this month he had grown 4 inches since birth.
We learned that he prefers to sleep on his belly. Schäfer began listening to music. He favorite genres are jazz and classical.
The Third Month - March
The month began with Schäfer enjoying the beach. He’s a great swimmer. He also started sleeping really good 5 hour stretches (thank you!).
He’s now blowing bubbles and starting to play with toys. He coo’s and smiles all the time.
